Default Warhammer 40k Online 2011/2012 release date

According to an article on Shacknews, it appears we will see Warhammer 40k Online during the fiscal year 2012. While its not set in stone, I am glad to see that the game is being worked on and they are definitely planning on releasing the game.

Here is a snippet from the article and a link to the article in full:

Quote:
Publisher THQ has dropped releases dates for its major games across the next two years, including Saints Row 3, another Red Faction game, an action game from Dawn of War 2 dev Relic, and its Warhammer 40,000 MMO.

The slide from an investors presentation noticed by GameSpot shows an as-yet-untitled action game, from Company of Heroes and Warhammer 40K: Dawn of War developers Relic, scheduled for THQ's fiscal year 2011, which begins April 1, 2010.

Fiscal year 2012, which begins on April 1, 2011, should see the launch of THQ's mysterious Warhammer 40,000 MMO, under development in-house by Vigil Games.

I don't mind the 2 or 3 year wait as long as they give out just a little info. The less they say the more I feel this game may not be.

Vigil seems to be stingy on the other game they are developing as well and its do out this year, Darksiders console game. Since I'm a big fan of comic artist Joe Madureira I'll prolly pick that up as well.

Waiting is not an issue to me really as long as what is being waited for is worth the wait.

As others have often said before, it is better to get something done right than to rush it. Hopefully the folk at Vigil do not get rushed (say for economic/business reasons) into releasing before their game is ready.

2-3 years? It will just fly by if you can find other things to occupy your time with.

Pleasing to see.

Anybody else perturbed by the number of Spongebob Squarepants games they are planning on releasing though? :S

They must still receive a large amount of money from the Spongebob things, to keep pumping out games like that though.
